观花植物，落叶灌木。植株卵球形，中等高度，枝条近直立，密度中等。花无香味，果白色。一年开一次花，始花期早，落叶期晚。

喜阳，耐荫；耐旱，耐瘠薄，但水肥充足环境生长更好。花后修剪并追肥有利于植株生长和冠形形成。果成熟后易落，应及时采摘。适宜在庭院、城市园林中营建花镜或配植，也适合做花海选材，可作插花材料。

芫花自然分布区。东至台湾，西至四川，南至海南，北至陕西。

Natural distribution area of Daphne genkwa. It extends to Taiwan in the east, Sichuan in the west, Hainan in the south and Shaanxi in the north.
