落叶乔木。叶厚浓绿，长势旺盛，多分枝。小枝浅褐色粗壮，老枝褐色。叶厚纸质，倒卵状圆形、倒卵状椭圆形或近圆形；叶面深绿色，叶背灰绿色，被白色短柔毛。花大，花被片外面粉红色，基部桃红色，内轮颜色渐深，内面乳白色，花初开时灯泡状，盛开时如莲花；夏秋季会零星开花，花色较春季略淡；雄蕊淡黄色，药隔紫红色，先端三角形，部分雄蕊有瓣化的趋势；雌蕊群绿色，柱头红绿色。蓇葖果柱状红色，种子红色。每年3月上中旬先花后叶。绿叶期长，落叶比其他品种晚0.5个月。

适种范围

郑州、西安、杭州、成都、深圳及其气候环境相似区域（7-10区）。

Variety characteristics

Deciduous trees. The leaves thick and green, many branches. Branchlets light brown stout, old branches brown. Leaves thickly papery, obovate-round or obovate-elliptic or sub-round; dark green leaf adaxially, gray-green leaf abaxially with white pubescent. Flowers large, the outside of tepals are pink, pink base, the inner whorl gradually dark, the inner surface is milky white; flowers bulb-shape at the initial blooming, and like a lotus in full bloom; the flowers will bloom sporadically in summer and autumn, and the color is slightly lighter than that in spring; stamens yellowish, connective purplish red, apex triangular, part of stamens tend to petal; gynoecium green, stigma red-green. Follicles columnar red, seeds red. Flowers before leaves in the early-mid of March every year. Green leaves long, which deciduous 0.5 months later than other varieties.

It is suitable for Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and similar climate environment areas (7-10 zones).
