落叶小乔木，株型紧凑。小枝灰褐色，疏被白色皮孔，老枝灰色。叶倒卵状圆形、倒卵形、倒卵状椭圆形，小叶上面绿色，叶背浅绿色，被白色短柔毛。花蕾卵圆形，顶生；花杯状，盛开时，花被片开张；花白色，基部红色。聚合蓇葖果绿色，成熟后呈紫红色。花期3月下旬~4月上旬，果熟期9月。

适种范围

郑州、西安、杭州、成都、深圳及其气候环境相似区域（7-10区）。

Variety characteristics

Deciduous small tree, compact plant type. Branchlets grayish brown, sparsely covered with white lenticels, older branches gray. Leaves obovate-round or obovate or obovate-elliptic, green above leaflets, light green on leaf back with white pubescent. Buds ovoid, terminal; flowers cup-shaped, when in full bloom, perianth segments open; flowers white, base red. Aggregate follicles green and purplish red when mature. Florescence from late March to early April and the fruit maturing is September.
